Jacob Dull received his Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from Kansas State University in 2011. An experienced structural engineer and designer, he joined Norton & Schmidt in 2025.  He has worked for large construction companies, large design engineering firms, and large technical consulting firms.  He is experienced with all major building materials and has been involved with all forms of low rise construction including residential, agricultural, and light to heavy commercial and industrial buildings.

Since becoming an engineer, Jacob has performed thousands of building inspections and forensic investigations. These have been performed for building owners, homeowners, real estate professionals, contractors, insurance companies, and lawyers on a first-come, first-serve basis. Reviewing, analyzing, and providing repair recommendations to problems with existing structures, roofing, and building envelope systems is a regular part of his workload. Forensic investigations include determining the cause, type and extent of property damage, and any underlying problems or defects that contributed to the damage. Some examples of damages/problems are storms, hail, wind, fire, explosions, blasting, vehicle impact, mechanical defects, and improper construction. Catastrophic to small losses are all handled with professionalism and care.
